5 Tips to Triumph over Test Prep

The article  first talks about maintaining balance and how that is impossible without a clear defined vision for the teachers. Teachers should walk into class everyday with a clear and single-mined focus on making a different for the kids.  We should also motivate students in positives way but not negative ways.  We  should also practice tested skills on a non-test prep way. It talks about the 5 tips.

You can use these tips over test prep because they can be in your lessons plans.  The five test prep questions include: Problem solve collaboratively, make it game, get kids moving, use individual dry erase boards, screencast.  All of these tips can apply to education because now in the school system most likely the students will have screencast for iPads.  The individual dry erase boards are a huge help because the students can use they while you are teaching them.  Kids love games so before test you can make a game for the whole class for review.

Teacher Appreciation Post:  It' True!... I teach because I Can't Do Anything Else

This articles talks about teacher appreciation week and how different teachers decided to teach.  One of the posters Michael Gorman talks about how to he started in his undergraduate in the College of Business but education was the route to take.  He posted a list of reason's why he teaches because he can't do anything else.  His list is very funny.

This article shows that applying teaching to different topics can be challeging.  This post is to show teacher appreciation.  When applying teaching material to a subject teacher are appreciation in teaching it.  Teachers did a lot of this that people don't know about.  We teach for a full year and sometimes in the summer.

First the article, start off talking about the monumnetal period in the history of education and where the mobile technologies are driving learning.   We have created and raised of on-the-go learning and promised a different value of learning trends that address different learning and instructional needs. Then the article goes on talking about the 12 mobile learning trends which are: Flash to HTMLS, Devices agnostic design approach, Mobile app analytics, multi-screen usage, Responsive web development for multi-devices, Bite sized learning for performance, Mobiles as devices for competence, gamified mobile learning and assessments, Geo-Location sensitive learning, Augmented Reality for Mobiles, Social mobile learning and wearable devices.  Then in a chart it explains the different mobile learning trends.

I would apply this to my teaching in today's classroom the students are getting to use mobile devices  such as iPad or different tablets.  These would go with the mobiles as devices for competence because you are letting the student use them.  The teachers could set-up different types of assessments and have the students use clickers to answer the questions.  There are different types of actives are like jeporady and clicker questions. Social mobile learning could be consider like applications like Blackboard or Moodle.

Something I've learned about using LiveBinders is the quick tour you can take once you get started.  LiveBinder is a very helpful and useful because of all the information to can use.  I will use this website and information in the future.   When using LiveBinders you could copy the link for the student's parents.

Using Blogs in Classroom

One way teachers use blogs in the  classrooms is  for the teachers to post about their classroom announcements and assignments to the students. The blog in the classroom is a place for everyone to see that is going on and the announcements.  Maybe a student missed an announcement in class they can look on the teachers blog to reread the announcements.  The teacher can post different articles and things she talked about in class that day.

Another way teachers use blogs in the classroom is to post online discussion questions for the students.  The teacher can post a discussion post for each students to reply and read another students post. You could post a article and have the the students read the article and answer a discussion question about it.  Another possible way for teachers to use blogs in have a running assignment for the students to work on there own blog throughout the semester.

Having a running blog throughout the semester would be benefit the student especially if they were in an technology class.  This teaches the students different tools that can be used on the computer.  I think I great way to for teachers to use blogs in the classroom.
